Advocacy Team
AVERY RUSSELL, ADVOCACY CO-COORDINATOR
Avery Russell (she/her) is a first year from Brooklyn, NY. She is interested in the English and Africana studies majors. In her free time she runs for Oberlin's Cross Country and Track team, obsesses over the best new movie releases, and dances at all times of day and night (with or without music). She is an assistant editor on Wilder Voice, Head of Communications of Oberlin's Women and Nonbinary Personal Finance Group, and a Visibility Event Planner on Survivors of Sexual Harm & Allies (SOSHA) Advocacy Team. She is passionate about giving survivors tools to share their story, seek justice, and feel empowered. In addition she hopes to help change the dialogues around sexual violence, victim blaming, and slut shaming within and outside of the Oberlin community which place blame on survivors of sexual harm. After Oberlin, she hopes to pursuit a career in either publishing or academia. She also loves to travel, creative write, and thrift for new fun outfits.

JACKIE BRICK, ADVOCACY CO-COORDINATOR
Jackie (She/Her) is a second year from Walla Walla, WA. She is an intended Biology and Media & Communications double major with a minor in chemistry. On campus, she is a member of the women's and trans ultimate frisbee team (go manti!), a Ninde Tutor at the Bonner Center, and a Survivors of Sexual Assault and Allies organizer. For fun, she enjoys playing with her 3 cats, stand-up comedy, and cooking with friends. She can be found in her favorite study stop is the Anderson lounge, Mudd, north quad , and the bowling alley!

NAMIRA CHOWDHURY, TITLE IX POLICY RESEARCHER & ADVOCACY
Namira(she/her) is a Sophomore from Dhaka, Bangladesh. She is an Economics and Math double major with an integrative concentration in Data Science. She is a Mathematics grader and a peer tutor for MATH 134 and ECON 101 and a Title IX Policy Researcher and Advocate for Oberlin SOSHA. She joined SOSHA because she is passionate about advocating for all survivors of sexual harm. In her free time, she loves to read, watch crime-thriller series and loves to sketch and paint.

DAPHNE MITCHELL, EDUCATION & COMMUNITY TEAM COORDINATOR
Daphne (she/her) is a fifth year from Shrewsbury Vermont. She is a Computer Science major with a Dance minor. In addition to SOSHA, Daphne is the facilitator of Lilac, a student organization building community for trans, non-binary and gender-nonconforming students. She is particularly interested in advocating for queer, trans, and other survivors who don’t fit traditional narratives. After Oberlin, Daphne hopes to become a cybersecurity professional. Outside of school, she waits tables at Bingo Chinese restaurant. An obsessive cook and baker, her favorite things to make are baechu kimchi, cupcakes, and carbonara. She is in two D&D groups and loves to play board games, spend time with friends, relax in nature and dote on her cat, Quasar.

Communication Team
SAGE REDDISH, COMMUNICATIONS & ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
Sage (they/them) is a second year from Ashland, OR. They are looking to major in comparative studies with possibly a double major in dance and a minor in gender, sexuality, and feminist studies. They run cross country in the fall and mid-distance track in the winter and spring. They are are SOSHA's communications and administrative coordinator. Nina (she/her) is a third year from Chantilly, VA (right outside of DC). She is a long jumper, triple jumper, and sprinter on the Track & Field team. She is a double major in Biology and Studio Art, and hopes to attend graduate school after graduating to pursue further studies in genetics. As a member of SOSHA, she acts as a publication manager, and is very passionate about advocacy for all survivors of sexual harm. In her free time, she loves to read, hang out with friends, explore different personal styles, and create art.

VICTORIA ADAIR, SUPPORT COORDINATOR
Victoria (she/her) is a first year from Oberlin, OH. She is undecided but interested in psychology and cognitive science. She plays harp and hopes to join the chamber and ensemble collective soon. She also loves playing soccer and is part of the Oberlin club team. She is the support coordinator and is involved with event planning and listening sessions. She is passionate about destigmatizing the conversation about sexual trauma and ensuring people always have access to support systems. In her free time she is an avid movie and show watcher and loves hanging out with her friends. When she gets the chance she also loves being outside or cuddled up with her dogs. |

FIONA BURKE, ATHLETICS LIAISON
Fiona (she/her) is a first-year from Framingham, MA. She is a Law and Society major who plans on pursuing a Pre-Law track. She also plays on the women's soccer team! She has been working on capital punishment abolishment throughout the last few years, working with peace alliances and organizations, state representatives, and program coordinators at local education centers. She is studying for an upcoming internship with the Massachusetts Criminal Justice Reform Caucus. At SOSHA, she is the Athletics and Conservatory Liaison. She joined SOSHA to try and give back to the community that has helped her so much. After Oberlin, she intends on attending law school and pursuing a career in capital punishment public policy work. For fun, she is training for a half-marathon with her mother, enjoys surfing, skiing, hiking with her dog, and playing the guitar! |
CLAIRE ROTHSTEIN, COMMUNITY LIAISON
Claire (she/her) is a third year psychology major from Bloomington, IN. While continuing her academic endeavors here, she has enjoyed being on AndWhat?! and the Preying Manti. Claire also works as a Peer Advising Leader (PAL.) She is so excited to be joining SOSHA this year as their Open Forum leader! Claire has been interested in becoming more invested in organizations advocating for survivors of sexual harm and educating allies, and looks forward to seeing how SOSHA develops. Post-college, she plans on going into marketing, ideally working primarily with non-profit and activist organizations. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, painting, and spending time with friends! |
EMMA HART, FOUNDER & ORGANIZATIONAL ADVISOR
Emma (she/her) is a fourth year from Indianapolis, IN. She is a psychology and dance double major with a minor in law and society and integrative concentration in education studies. She is a pole vaulter for the Track & Field team and an aerialist in O’Circus. She is a research assistant in the psychology department and am conducting Honors research on moral disengagement and cognitive dissonance in social groups. She founded Survivors Of Sexual Harm & Allies (SOSHA), a support and advocacy organization for the Oberlin community. She is passionate about deconstructing systems that lead to gender-based violence and prevent survivors from seeking justice. After Oberlin, she hopes to attend law school and pursue a career in public policy and civil rights. For fun, she enjoy spending time with animals (especially her dog, Idgee, and cat, Mo), reading, and exploring the outdoors!
